Welcome to For Women Who Roar
a publication for women who write from around the world.
Welcome to For Women Who Roar!
Welcome to For Women Who Roar. This is a space I’ve been dreaming of for a long time: a place for women’s writing that doesn’t soften itself, doesn’t tiptoe, doesn’t apologize. Stories that are fierce, honest, messy, beautiful, and sometimes even a little wild.
This is a living, breathing literary space where voices matter, where craft is honored, and where stories are chosen, edited, and shaped with care. Some pieces come from our archives, old favorites given a new breath. Others are fresh, new work from women writers who are unafraid to speak their truth. And every now and then, you’ll hear from me, what I’m noticing, what’s pulling at me, what’s roaring in my own thoughts.
Here’s the thing: creating a magazine like this takes time, attention, and care. Every piece you see is selected, edited, and presented with the goal of honoring the writer’s voice while building a space that readers can return to week after week. That’s where you come in. Your support as a paid subscriber keeps FWWR alive. It allows me to read every submission, nurture each writer, produce thoughtful issues, and sustain the editorial process that makes this magazine what it is.
Paid subscribers are the lifeblood of this magazine. You are helping women writers be seen and heard, and you are helping FWWR continue to roar.
I started FWWR because I wanted a space where women could speak and write without compromise, where craft met courage, where stories weren’t edited down to fit in or please anyone.
So, read, share, and submit if you feel called. Comment to support other writers. Become a paid subscriber and help sustain this magazine for the writers and readers who need it most.
However you participate, I’m so glad you’re here.
With fire,
Megan
A little about me?
The name For Women Who Roar came from a poem I wrote about the experience of being a woman in society: feeling muffled yet stepping into her power and presence without apology.
Who is the creator of this magazine? I am Megan Febuary, a writer, artist, and writing coach. Helping women write their books, find their true voice, and heal their stories. My passion for storytelling began at a young age with my own creative journey in writing and art as a form of healing trauma. As a Writing Coach, my vision for For Women Who Roar® was born from a desire to empower and elevate women’s stories.
I received my M.A. from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, emphasizing The Body Is A Storyteller: Trauma, body, and integration—the stories our bodies hold but cannot tell out loud. This trauma-informed background bleeds into everything I do, from coaching to courses to the books I write.
You can purchase my For Women Who Roar book here.
Want to connect with me personally? You can find me on my Heal Your Story sister substack, and learn about my writing coaching services here.
Thank you for checking in, and keep roaring,
Megan Febuary

Dear Megan, even the title you chose for your book really interested me. I believe that the roar of us women will create a beautiful future for the world. We started from our own Iran. Women who, in absolute silence, strive for freedom with utmost courage. We are a group of women of the Iranian resistance who want to be the voice of Iranian women, and I am very proud of your courage and consider myself a member of your community. You might be interested in seeing a bit of the Iranian regime's misogyny.

I was a young woman in the 1970s when Helen Reddy wrote the song containing the words: 'I am woman, hear me roar.' Perhaps this is where you first heard it, too.
